Outlier - NYC

This is secretly a post about wool. But don't think of it that way, just as cool cycling gear from a company in NYC. Plus, it's interesting, they had an idea about clothing they wanted to make and they've started making it - in very small quantities (that seem to sell out quickly). Sounds like a kinda familiar roadmap. The hoody & T are, of course, wool. The pants on the other hand are made out of that crazy hi-tech fabric (scroll down) that's designed to repel dirt & water based on the lotus plant. It's kind of like reverse velcro. Nifty. Could they really be everyday pants though?

More Wool

This time from Devold. Maybe you'll like the styling on this better than Icebreaker. Nah, probably not. But, a shout out to my Norwegian heritage.

Also a gray longsleeve baselayer from Ibex. Not terrible. And yes, I realize summer is coming...

Arrow Moccasins

I think I need to get a pair of these while they are still affordable. I missed the Quoddy boat about 4 years ago and now those are just not in the range. I guess we can always hope that this newfound hipster love of the handmade will be an enduring trend. Hmm, hipster, enduring, trend. Yeah might as well give up now. Icebreaker Wool

Travel & Wool, 2 of my favorite things. Icebreaker brings them together even for traveling to hot climates. That's right, wool in the summer. 3 shirts (polo, t, long sleeve) and I'm ready to be gone for a month. Now I just need to find as travel worthy pants. And yes, wool underwear too.
Be sure to check out their Brazil Travel video too. Brazil is very, very high on the list. From the moment I left I've wanted to go back.

Surcingle Belts

So you know I'm a big fan of ribbon belts, but truthfully they're not very good at doing their belt duty of holding up pants. Is it time for a surcingle belt? From J.Press Orvis and Rugby. Problem is that I can't really find a leather/buckle combo I like, maybe the Billy Kirk boys will feel the same need . . . prolly not.

This is Fly

I always have a good time reading this online mag. Kind of the hipster flyfisher, is that possible? This is Fly. This issue featuring the work of Josh Keyes.

Dromarti Sportivo

If only the guy riding the Penny Farthing yesterday was sporting these
instead of those white Asics.... At least he had the mustache for it.

Tibor Nemeth Photography

I always liked the series he did for Simms, he has a great way of capturing the gravitas we give to sports and outdoor activities. More here.

Clark Little

Figured you dig this guy's stuff, seems like a good gig shooting waves. Clark Little Photography.

So good.

Mishka shorts

Now that it's time to think about shorts (thank goodness) here's a pair from Mishka that are similar to the Analog ones I picked up at the Burton sample sale yesterday. The real reason to look at the Mishka site though? This music list.

Suunto Core

You know I'm usually a diehard anti-quartz guy but man this thing is just going for it.

Phil Woods

Phil Woods playing one of my favorite Charlie Parker tunes, talking about Yamahas, sushi and tender soldiers.
